Things to do this weekend in Bangkok, August 28–30 2026

On Friday and Saturday, Irish band Kodaline play their farewell shows at UOB LIVE, on the sixth floor of EmSphere. Showtime is 20:00 both nights. Tickets start at 1,900 baht and were still available for the second night when this letter went live. If you already have one, that is the ticket: the band has said this is the end. Go for pastry first at EICH on Ekkamai Soi 10, a two-storey house that soft-launched on 24 August and runs 08:00–20:00. Around the concert, Bangkok has assembled an unusually good free weekend — the more useful news if you did not get in.

ISAN UNBOXED FEST: Feel More ISAN takes over Museum Siam from Friday to Sunday, 15:00–21:00 — food, mor lam, crafts and travel stalls, with no admission charge, inside the old ministry building on Sanam Chai. It is the weekend’s public square, and the easiest place to arrive without a plan. The Bangkok International Game Festival fills TK Park on the 8th floor of centralWorld from 28–30 August, 11:00–18:00, with more than thirty designers and unreleased board games. Thailand Printmaking Festival 2026 runs in the Event Hall on the 2nd floor of Central Chidlom, 11:00–20:00 through Sunday, free, with live presses and a zine lab. NIPPON HAKU BANGKOK fills the glass halls of QSNCC through Sunday, the convention centre beside the park. Walk over from Blue Bottle Central Park on the ground floor of Dusit Central Park, open 10:30–19:00 — Oakland’s first café in Thailand, pets welcome.

Museum Siam is the public square. UOB LIVE is the night. QSNCC is the air-conditioned middle. Pick one and let something else wait. Bangkok is not short of things to do this weekend; it is short of evenings. Spend Friday on a ticket if you have one. Spend Saturday on Isan food in a museum courtyard. Let Sunday be a free printmaking festival at Central Chidlom rather than another queue.
