This second, larger site from Bamboo Mat anchors itself on Wood Wharf, bringing its signature Nikkei (Japanese-Peruvian) cooking to Canary Wharf. Like the original, the menu fuses Japanese knife skills and Peruvian heat, but here, an omakase and raw bar operate alongside a robata grill for more ambitious plates. Dishes include a "ceviche deluxe" of sea bass, scallop, prawn and roasted peppers in tiger’s milk, and ox cheek with yuzu potato purée and teriyaki sauce.
Upstairs, a cocktail lounge overlooks the water, with drinks reflecting both Japanese and Peruvian influences—look for a pisco sour on the list. The restaurant sprawls over two floors, making this Bamboo Mat’s largest venue yet and a notable addition to Canary Wharf’s growing dining scene.
