E’lane İstanbul opened at Fenerbahçe, Demet Sokak No: 2 / 2B, 34726 Kadıköy — a side street off the denser Bağdat and shore traffic, under the old trees the quarter still keeps. The little-known fact is the tableware. Some of the cups, plates and service pieces were brought from England, which is why a scone and an apple pie look at home next to a pırasalı eski kaşarlı brioche. Soft colour, a small garden, a room built for a laptop as much as a gossip. Capacity is twenty on purpose: this is not a Caddebostan brunch hall. Winter hot chocolate gets a ceremonial cup; Christmas decoration is allowed to change the photographs without changing the coffee.

The morning board is croissant, dill poğaça, coffee from fresh beans, aromatic teas. Later: apple pie, scone, the leek-and-aged-kaşar brioche, sweet and savoury snacks in the case. Come after a shore walk if you want the garden; come with a computer if you want the quiet street. Müdavim scored flavour 9, atmosphere 9, value 10, service 9 — the numbers are theirs; the usable fact is the numbered lane.

Go for the apple pie and a filter coffee. Demet Sokak is why it feels like Fenerbahçe rather than a concept bakery on the avenue.
