Araf

Araf is a contemporary Turkish tasting kitchen folded into a converted apartment in Nişantaşı, Şişli, where residential scale and a small kitchen share the same quiet floor plate.

The name draws on Araf as barzakh, the in-between; the designers treated the address as a threshold between a Nişantaşı flat and a tasting kitchen, keeping the rooms intimate rather than theatrical.

The kitchen’s own channels carried the opening, and araf.istanbul is the live camera for hours. The room is why you go, and the street is why it feels like Istanbul.
