A New Take on Pastrami in Bangkok: DIEHARD at Terminal 21
Bangkok's deli scene gets a distinctive update with the debut of DIEHARD, a pastrami-focused kiosk serving Australian wagyu cuts at Terminal 21 Asok.

This week’s opening spotlight is on DIEHARD, now discovered at Terminal 21. Tucked into the food zone near Gourmet Market, this compact counter introduces American-style pastrami sandwiches crafted from slow-cured, smoked wagyu—a rare sight in Thailand’s current food landscape.
DIEHARD
DIEHARD distinguishes itself as the first eatery in Thailand specializing in American deli-style pastrami sandwiches made with Australian wagyu. Located at Terminal 21 Asok, the small kiosk seats just eight around its counter, maintaining an intimate setup. The wagyu undergoes a six-day cure followed by a full day of smoking before being sliced for sandwiches. Founded by chef Thanachot Thampeera—known for ventures like RARE BKK and Blendies ice cream—the kitchen’s daily quantities are necessarily limited by the lengthy prep process.
