Mersin

Mersin opened at 123 Avenue Simon Bolivar in the 19th, a Belleville taverna from Noé Lazare and Amir Bouceid of Gemüse Paris, after five months of works on a street that still reads as a neighborhood avenue rather than a destination strip.

The little-known fact is the city in the name: Mersin is the Mediterranean port in southern Turkey, and the room treats döner, tantuni and mezze as that city’s street grammar rather than a Paris fast-food template — pide baked for the sandwich, a spit of veal and turkey mounted twice, fries cut each morning.
