Moko Hirayama and Omar Koreitem’s Mexican room on Rue de Charonne: a sand façade, an endless open kitchen, tamales and mezcal.

Locomal opened in 2026 at 74 Rue de Charonne in the 11th, the anagram that replaced Mokoloco: Moko Hirayama and Omar Koreitem swapped their rotating-chef canteen for a Mexican haunt with a sand-colored façade, Jose Oviedo (El Nopal, Mokonuts) on the line.
The little-known fact is the letters. Locomal is Mokoloco rearranged, and the open kitchen runs the length of the narrow room. Tamales, totopos, a five-course tasting at €55, micheladas and mezcal; tacos from 17:00, dinner from 19:00, Tuesday to Saturday. Le Fooding filed it in June 2026. Walk-ins and bookings.
@locomal_paris is the live camera for hours. The kitchen is why you go; Rue de Charonne is why it feels like Paris.
