TOAD Deptford opened on 9 July 2026 at St Paul’s House, Deptford High Street, SE8 4BX, the second door from Rebecca Spaven and Oliver Costello after Camberwell in 2022. The High Street bakehouse is the larger of the two — Nick Tudor’s sweet-chestnut racks and a long stainless counter built to kill the Camberwell queue — and it now does the dough for both shops. Everything croissant, cornbread Suisse, saffron-and-vanilla teacakes, sourdough from an open kitchen. The Nudge and London the Inside had the 9 July date. @millykr put the chrome counters in her five new south London bakeries file the same month.

The little-known fact is the timber. Tudor felled the chestnut near his Essex workshop, then slanted five racks so the loaves face the street instead of stacking into a bottleneck. Open seven days. toadbakery.com holds the jobs board; @toadbakery is the live camera.

The counter is why you go; Deptford High Street is why it feels like London.
