Lady of the Grapes opened its London Bridge door on 30 June 2026 at 53 Southwark Street, SE1 1RU, in the Grade II listed Menier Chocolate Factory beside Flat Iron Square. Owner Carole Bryon — the Covent Garden original — took two floors: a light upstairs dining room with an open kitchen and wine-bottle lights, and Forbidden Fruit downstairs, a vaulted speakeasy for toasties and cocktails. Head chef Matyáš Plzák cooks modern French: fried courgette flowers with harissa mayo, gougères filled with Époisses béchamel, Wiltshire lamb rump with sweetbread, a flan Parisien finished with foraged elderflower. Hot Dinners test-drove the room the week it opened. @millykr sat a date night here in July and called it the new restaurant and wine bar to book.

The little-known fact is the list. Every bottle is made by a woman, organic, biodynamic or natural — the same brief as Covent Garden, now in a Victorian chocolate factory five minutes from London Bridge station. Tuesday to Friday lunch 12:00–15:00 and dinner 17:00–23:00; Saturday 12:00–23:00; Sunday 12:00–22:00. Book through OpenTable.
