The little-known fact is the founder’s résumé. Chef Doğuş Şahin trained in gastronomy, then cooked at Noma and Eleven Madison Park before lighting this ocak in a car-industry lot. That is why the meze reads chef-y while the kebaps stay orthodox: an Adana usta on the grill, usulüne uygun, next to plates that would not look lost in a tasting room. Brick, plants and hanging lamps do the décor; a winter garden takes the cold months; Saturday nights add live music. It is a meyhane that kept the rakı table and borrowed an ocakbaşı, in a neighbourhood that does not usually get either.

Start with truffled honeyed aubergine and Ballı Girit. Padron peppers, grilled corn and Girit kabak kızartma colour the middle of the table. From the fire: çiğ köfte, Adana, yağlı kara, çöp şiş. A cocktail before the rakı is allowed. Celebrations fit because the room is loose rather than hushed — 2.500 TL a head on Müdavim’s 2026 card, which tells you this is not a canteen ocak.

Go for the aubergine and an Adana when the forest air hits the lot. The numbered building inside Oto Sanayi is why it feels like Istanbul rather than a Bosphorus meyhane with a theme.
