La Joyita opened in July 2026 at Carrer del Torrent de l’Olla 143 in Vila de Gràcia as a Mexican marisquería: seafood first, tacos second, a numbered street in the middle of the barrio rather than a concept flown in from El Born.

The little-known fact is the brief. Barcelona already had high-end Mexican rooms and plenty of taquerías; what it did not have, on this side of Diagonal, was a Mexican fish counter that reads as a neighbourhood marisquería. The mural in the room still says Julio 2026. Plates run to tostadas, aguachile, ceviche and grilled fish, the kind of short card you eat standing at the bar or at a small table on Torrent de l’Olla. Barcelona Food Experience filed the door in the summer 2026 openings roundup and called it a refreshing addition specifically for Gràcia. @lajoyita_bcn is the live camera for hours and the day’s fish. The mariscos are why you go; Torrent de l’Olla is why it feels like Barcelona.
