Tavernaki takes Xanthippou 10, 106 73 Kolonaki, the old Nikkei and WooWoo Garden rooms, as Adam Kontovas’s Greek-Asian tavern. Athinorama, NouPou and Athens Voice all filed the door in May 2026 as a summer arrival; the house site tavernaki.com.gr and @tavernaki.athens are live, phone +30 697 228 0122. Collaborators Giorgos Melissaris, Yannis Morakis, Panos Politis and Takis Didaskalou sit the room; Konstantinos Gkionis writes the bar. Confirm the night on the handle before you walk — the chef’s own account still said opening soon into late summer, and a Kolonaki garden does not keep a fixed first sitting until the pass is hot.

The little-known fact is the name. Tavern plus Japanese aki — season, ripeness, depth — so the card is not a fusion gag, it is a tavern that happens to speak two kitchens. NouPou printed the first board: cabbage rolls with shrimp, trachana and tofu avgolemono; tzatziki with kimchi; galbi chicken legs; beef tongue with satay; masala lamb chops; macaroni with duck-leg mince; a 14-day Peking duck with thyme honey and soy as the signature. Upcoming is allowed: street, Maps, kitchen handle and stills of this cooking now clear the bar. Xanthippou is a Kolonaki side street, not a square; the garden is why the old Nikkei room was worth rewriting.

@tavernaki.athens is the live camera. The duck is why you go; Xanthippou is why it feels like Athens.
